This orphanage had started as a small family concern.
International media attention resulted in a very large increase in donations in only a few years.
Employee numbers had increased from zero to hundreds during the same period.
I worked with management and international funding organisations to:
Establish a five- and ten- year plan
Align the budgeting process to the five- and ten-year plans
Revamp the orphanage’s website to better focus on its achievements
Implement accountability for decision-making and financial flows
As a result, international funding organisations were able to satisfy their own local regulatory and governance requirements.
This resulted in increased funding for the orphanage.
