Participants, providers and the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) are all coming to terms with a new way of doing things in the disability services sector under the NDIS.
A client came to me recently expressing frustration with an NDIA staff member who simply didn’t understand his son’s disability. My client was struggling to get traction with the NDIA.
I spent some time listening to his concerns and details of his conversations about the NDIS.
I discussed with him a course of action, starting with some simple steps that he could take himself.
As a result of our conversation and his actions, his case was reviewed and his son’s NDIS allocated plan funding was nearly tripled.
Sometimes, all it takes is a discussion with someone who isn’t part of your red tape issues and a few follow-up steps.
Over twenty years in this field has equipped me to see beyond the frustrations and red tape. I enjoy identifying simple, common-sense steps towards a solution that works for government and the business owner, individual or charity that is subject to government action.
